God Sent Many Ayat (Verses) - Explanation

In Islam, Ayat (آيات) refers to the verses of the Qur'an, which are divine revelations from Allah. The Qur'an mentions that Allah sent many revelations (Scriptures) to His prophets throughout history. These include:

  1. Suhuf (Scrolls) of Ibrahim (AS) – Given to Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham) (AS).
  2. Tawrat (Torah) – Given to Prophet Musa (Moses) (AS).
  3. Zabur (Psalms) – Given to Prophet Dawud (David) (AS).
  4. Injil (Gospel) – Given to Prophet Isa (Jesus) (AS).
  5. Qur’an – The final revelation given to Prophet Muhammad (SAW).

Each of these divine scriptures contained "Ayat" (signs/verses) guiding humanity towards faith, righteousness, and worship of one true God. However, the Qur'an confirms that previous scriptures were altered or lost, and only the Qur'an remains perfectly preserved.

Islamic View on the Bible

Islam teaches that the original Tawrat, Zabur, and Injil were divine revelations but were later altered by humans. The Qur'an confirms:

"Indeed, We sent down the Torah, in which was guidance and light..."
(Qur'an 5:44)

"And We sent, following in their footsteps, Jesus, the son of Mary, confirming that which came before him in the Torah; and We gave him the Gospel..."
(Qur'an 5:46)

However, the current versions of these books contain human modifications, which is why the Qur'an is the final and preserved revelation from Allah.

Deeper Explanation: God’s Sent Ayat (Revelations) and the Bible

1. What Are Ayat?

In Islam, Ayat (آيات) refers to the verses of the Qur’an, but it also means signs or miracles from Allah.
Allah has sent many Ayat in different forms, including:

Ayat in the Universe – Signs in nature (sun, moon, stars, rain, life, death).
Ayat in History – The destruction of past nations (e.g., Pharaoh, Aad, Thamud).
Ayat in the Qur’an – Divine guidance revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW).
Ayat in Previous Scriptures – The revelations given to earlier prophets.

📖 Qur’an 41:53
"We will show them Our signs in the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth."

Thus, every revelation (Tawrat, Zabur, Injil, and Qur’an) contained Ayat guiding mankind toward Allah.

2. Original Books of Allah and Their Status Today

📜 (i) Suhuf (Scrolls) of Ibrahim (AS)

  • The first divine scripture given to Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
  • The Qur'an mentions it in Surah Al-A'la (87:18-19).
  • These scrolls are lost, and no copies exist today.

📖 (ii) Tawrat (Torah) – Given to Musa (AS)

  • It was a law book revealed to Prophet Musa (Moses) (AS).
  • Contained commandments about worship, purity, and justice.
  • The current Torah in the Bible is altered (Qur’an 2:79).

📜 (iii) Zabur (Psalms) – Given to Dawud (AS)

  • A book of prayers and praises given to Prophet Dawud (David) (AS).
  • The Book of Psalms in the Bible is similar but not fully preserved.

📖 (iv) Injil (Gospel) – Given to Isa (AS)

  • It contained guidance, wisdom, and prophecies.
  • The four Gospels in the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke, John) are not the original Injil.
  • Paul and others changed the teachings of Isa (AS), introducing the concept of the Trinity (which Isa never preached).

📜 (v) The Qur’an – The Final Revelation

  • Revealed to Prophet Muhammad (SAW) over 23 years.
  • Fully preserved (Qur’an 15:9).
  • Confirms and corrects previous scriptures.

3. The Bible: Old & New Testament – Islamic Perspective

The Old Testament (Torah & Other Books)

  • Originally, it contained divine guidance, but it has been altered over time.
  • Example of alteration: The Bible describes prophets committing sins like idolatry, adultery, and drunkenness, which is false.
  • The true Tawrat was lost, and what remains is a man-made version.

📖 Qur’an 2:79
"Then woe to those who write the Book with their own hands and then say, 'This is from Allah,' to exchange it for a small price!"

The New Testament (Injil & Other Books)

  • The Injil given to Isa (AS) is lost.
  • The New Testament consists of four Gospels written by different people (not by Isa himself).
  • Paul (not a disciple of Isa) introduced Trinity and Original Sin, which contradict Islam.
  • Example:
    • Qur’an 5:72"They have certainly disbelieved who say, 'Allah is the Messiah, the son of Mary.'"

4. Why Is the Qur’an the Final and Preserved Book?

The Qur’an is protected by Allah Himself (Qur’an 15:9).
Memorized by millions (Huffaz), ensuring no changes.
Scientific Miracles – The Qur’an contains knowledge that was discovered centuries later.
No Contradictions – Unlike the Bible, which has many contradictions.
Linguistic Perfection – No human can produce anything like it (Qur’an 17:88).

📖 Qur’an 4:82
"Do they not reflect upon the Qur’an? If it had been from any other than Allah, they would have found within it much contradiction."

Conclusion: Islam is the Final Truth

1️⃣ Allah sent many Ayat (signs) through revelations, nature, and history.
2️⃣ Previous scriptures (Tawrat, Zabur, Injil) were altered by humans.
3️⃣ The Bible contains remnants of truth but is mixed with human writings.
4️⃣ The Qur’an is the final, unchanged revelation, correcting all distortions.

📖 Qur’an 5:48
"And We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], the Book in truth, confirming that which preceded it of the Scripture and as a criterion over it."
